Sheridan Street

Design Size: 90 stitches high, 96 stitches wide (14 count: 6.5" x 7" or approx. 16.5 cm x 17.5 cm)
Fabric Size: Working on 14 count: No less than 13" x 13" (33 cm x 33 cm)

The humble little house in Sheridan Street - the main street of Cairns leading from the city, Northwards to the airport, Northern beaches and Port Douglas - has no personal meaning for me whatsoever apart from the fact that I used to see it daily, and it absolutely oozes personality against its background of lush vegetation.

Cane Farm

Design Size: 76 stitches high, 130 stitches wide (14 count: 5.5" x 9.5" or approx. 14 cm x 24 cm)
Fabric Size: Working on 14 count: No less than 12" x 16" (30 cm x 40 cm)

Cane Farm is an adaptation of one of my earlier, full-colour designs titled 'Leonardi's Farm'. This beautiful old Queenslander is approximately 11.5 km North of Cairns and can be seen from the Captain Cook highway only when the fields of sugar cane are low.

If you enjoyed these Far North Queensland houses I would strongly recommend 'Cominos House', an historic old Cairns building near the Botanical Gardens. This design, also a monotone, is much larger, being 138 stitches high by 240 wide.

Other monotone designs include Blue Girl and Green Girl.
