About the Appaloosa

The distant origins of the Appaloosa are similar to those of other American breeds and can be traced back to the horses taken to America by the Conquistadors in the sixteenth century.

The original photograph of Gryphon, from which this model was stitched, was given to me by the owner, Paula Chmura, who snapped this magnificent profile in 1995.
